While the COVID-19 pandemic in Melbourne has been discussed from multiple perspectives, an important viewpoint has been missing: that of homeless people.

To understand their experience, Daniel Pfaender and I interviewed Krissie, an enthusiastic and positive woman who’d been living on the streets for four years.

While her story took a few twists and turns, it ultimately opened our eyes to the harsh realities that people who sleep rough face on a regular basis and how precarious their lives have been during the pandemic.
